Day 1: Welcome to Finland!

Monday, March 21

Welcome to Rovaniemi, the capital of the Lapland region! We will take a private group transfer from Rovaniemi Airport to  the Scandic Rovaniemi City Hotel. The hotel is centrally located with free access to a traditional Finnish sauna, a gym, and Wi-Fi.

I recommend visiting the Arktikum Museum today to learn more about Lapland. This museum has interactive exhibits that lets you experience northern nature, culture, and history up close. The museum is one of the top things to see in Finland, so definitely make this a stop on your own!

Meet in hotel lobby at 6 PM to go have dinner at a traditional Sami Kota. The blazing fire creates a magical ambiance in the small kota shelter. The specialty dish of Restaurant Kota is the mouth-watering glow fried salmon fillet. Salmon doesn’t get tastier than this! You can also choose between meat or vegetarian dishes when enjoying dinner at Kota Restaurant.

At dinner, we will visit and go over the weeks plans and get to know our fellow travelers!

Meals included: Dinner

Day 2: Santa Claus Village

Tuesday, March 22

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we board our private bus to head to meet Santa Claus! You can meet Santa Claus and cross the magical ARCTIC CIRCLE every day at the Santa Claus Village. Santa Claus spends his time at Santa Claus Village every day of the year to take care of his mission in life; to enhance the well-being of children and the kindness of grown-ups, as well as spread the message of love and goodwill and the Christmas Spirit across the globe. Here is your last opportunity to shop. Enjoy free time here to meet Santa, cross the line into the Arctic, shop, and explore.

The isolated, peaceful, lakeside resort is surrounded by a forest in the Pyha National Park, perfect to hunt for the Aurora Borealis at night. At the resort, we will have access to multiple Finnish saunas! Once settled in, we will enjoy dinner. To see what a typical menu is when dining at Sunday morning, click here

You make take a calm and peaceful REINDEER SLEIGH RIDE and truly enjoy the stillness of nature. A sleigh ride is not a tourism industry innovation, but the Finnish indigenous people, Sámi, way of getting around. A reindeer ride is rather something of a spiritual journey; gliding through a snowy forest in a wooden sleigh IS that magical experience that you will never forget! After our two hour reindeer experience, we will head back to our private resort to eat a program included lunch and dinner. You will have free time to enjoy the sauna, relax, or do a different activity. You can book activities such as ice climbing or snow-showing separately. Northern Lights
As with wildlife, viewing the northern lights is never guaranteed. However, we are visiting during a very good time when seeing the Aurora Borealis is most likely!

How to Get to Rovaniemi

By Plane:

The fastest way to reach Rovaniemi is to fly. Rovaniemi Airport, the official airport of Santa Claus, has multiple nonstop flights from Helsinki. Most major European cities connect through Helsinki.

By Train:

If you wish to travel by train, I recommend taking the Santa Claus Express! It is a really cool overnight experience showing much of the Finnish winter landscape.
